Every month, art galleries in the Sacramento area keep their doors open late and invite the public to participate in the Second Saturday Art Walk. Visitors can grab a bite to eat, walk from gallery to gallery viewing brand new art works, hear live music and explore the region's vibrant art districts.
WHERE TO START
Try the corner of 18th and L.
START EARLY!
The gallery viewing hours are short, typically from 6-10pm. If you want to see some art, start while it's still light.
EXPLORE!
Some of the best galleries are in East Sac, and the South Side near Broadway. Del Paso Boulevard also has an excellent event!
PARKING
Parking will not be easy. There is a reason it's called the ART WALK! Please be extra cautious and drive slowly. Yield to pedestrians and bicyclists. Then, get out of your car and walk around. Try parking near a gallery you really want to see early, and walking to midtown and back. Remember, you can walk from 12th street to 22nd street in about 15 minutes!
What will I see?
Check out the PICTURES. 2nd Saturday involves awesome live music, fresh art, cool entertainment, craft vendors, and occasionally a waffle truck (cool!)
