Mike Hoffman

Luigis Slice and Fun Garden is proud to present a series of mixed media and print art by Mike Hoffman. Mr. Hoffmann's works are not conceived but grown. Building up backgrounds over months, Hoffmann strives to include the experience of his past and present states. Hoffmann's lavish and membranous background are then framed by his definitive and distinct realistic drawing technique. Mr Hoffmann's work will be on display from Feb 4-28. His work can also be seen on his website http://perkednation.com/ where he sells the most innovative and unique clothing in all of Sacramento.

If you are interested in setting up an exhibition, please do get in touch. From casino hotel resorts to record stores or libraries, any space could be a home to Hoffman's fresh and fascinating work. It is thought-provoking and interesting, appealing to even the most discerning art critics. Check it out here or on his website.

Who Is Mike Hoffmann?
By Danny Scheible

Mike Hoffmann is the closet thing to Basquiat that Sacramento has ever had. A constant CREATOR, he slaves away in his Natomas studio day and night, creating many of the richest images in the central valley. Where others see signs, streets, sidewalks and shirts, Hoffman sees surfaces. Working to such a fever pitch you can well think he means to cover the world an inch deep in images.
Mike's drawings catch your eye like a beautiful woman from across the room, but speak like an old friend when you get close. His images are created from layers of his past and visions of his present. Saving every screen print Hoffmann has ever created he uses them as versatilely as his pens and brushes while working. Like daydreams, Mike's works are constructed from memories of the past and visages of the future. Piled on paper layer after layer his works evolve over time, never to be finished but always to be inspired. Some of Hoffmann's works even began to generate a sense of time, spanning the almost impossible gap between image and experience.

P.S. Mike Hoffmann creates the most bodacious, unique and striking t-shirts and custom clothes ever to grace the River City. One can not truly be in vogue until they are adorn with a piece from Hoffman's collection.
